Senegal: Consultancyn: Editing, translation and lay out - Nutrition Unit - WCARO

Purpose of the Assignment

The consultancy includes 3 areas of responsibilities: editing, translation and layout of the technical report – approximatively 45 pages, 14,500 words. The technical report should be easy to understand, attractive, and effectively communicating consensuses reached on the methodology to track nutrition financing.

Assignment Tasks /Expected Deliverables

The consultancy will be for 15 working days. Activities are estimated to start by 25th October 2017 and be completed by 21st November 2017.

- Review and edit the technical document including spelling typography grammar, punctuation and use of language style, referencing and format anything missed

- Highlight clearly the main consensual adjustments made to existing approaches (to be discussed in detail)

Lay out

- Design (including pictures) and layout of the edited document in both versions (French and English)

- Proofread of the text in the design and layout of the publication

- Printer follow-up

- Final technical document in format booklet/handbook (ready-to-print format)

- Report on the printer follow-up

Performance indicators for evaluation of results:

  • Timely submission of the deliverables
  • Quality of the products delivered document
  • Qualifications of Successful Candidate

    Education

  • Advanced Diploma or Degree in communication, journalism or other related field
  • Years of relevant experience

  • Minimum five year continuous experience of providing editing, proofreading, translation and lay out services.
  • Familiarity with UNICEF’s style and UN editorial manual desirable.
  • Proven excellent command of both French and English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexible attitude
