The Opportunity

The Regional Strategic Analyst is a member of the Save the Children team dedicated to the West and Central Africa region, and is based in the Dakar regional office. The primary purpose of this function is to meet the needs of regional and national offices for context analysis and analytical support. The Regional Strategic Analyst is also part of Save the Children's CAFU (Context Analysis and Foresight Unit), coordinated by the Stockholm-based Chief Analyst.

The Regional Strategic Analyst delivers quality context and foresight analyzes, in a timely manner and adapted to the specific needs of the organization, in order to better inform the internal processes of strategic decision-making at the national, regional levels and overall. These analyzes reinforce Save the Children's response capacity in West and Central African countries.

In order to be successful you will have:

  • Master's degree in a relevant academic field (political science, social sciences, international humanitarian law, etc.)
  • Mastery of methods of analysis and prospective (approaches and tools)
  • Excellent written and oral communication, and excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Critical mind
  • Sense of diplomacy
  • Good understanding of English and French
  • Curiosity to learn, and willingness to make a difference in complex environments
  • Publications on humanitarian and development issues
  • Previous experience in humanitarian contexts in West and Central Africa
  • Competence in quantitative analysis (statistics) appreciated

Contract Length : 1 year

Localisation: Dakar, Senegal
