Nutrition International (NI) formerly Micronutrient Initiative, is a global organization dedicated to delivery of proven nutrition interventions with a focus on pregnant women, newborns, infant, children under 5 years and adolescents. NI’s mission is to be a global leader in finding and scaling solutions to malnutrition through; Coverage: delivering low cost high impact nutrition interventions, especially for women, adolescent girls and children in Africa and Asia; Leverage: Integrating nutrition across sectors to maximize impact and ensure there are no missed opportunities; and Influence: Utilizing research, technical assistance, advocacy, and partnerships with national and global nutrition actors to improve policies, programs, and resources for nutrition. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for Project Director for the PINNK Project to be based in the Project Office in Kedougou, Senegal.
The role
The Project Director will have day to day responsibility for planning, implementation, and tracking of progress against project deliverables of the PINKK project ensuring that project targets are met through the efficient and effective management of resources. The Project Director will also be responsible for developing and stewarding good relationships with DFATD, project implementing partners and with key stakeholders in the Kolda and Kedougou regions.
What we are looking for
At least a Master’s degree from a recognized university in one or more of the following areas: Public health, Nutrition, Child health, or Food Sciences or a similar discipline. Training in Epidemiology and Research methodology. Medical degree and PhD are added advantage. She /He will have at least 10 years in the management of Public health, Maternal and child health and Nutrition programs. At least 5 years hands on experience in managing donor funded programs/projects. 5 years of working for or with the Senegal Health System and Community Health programmes.
Strength in enabling and inspiring others through team work, training and organisation development to realise organisation objectives. Fluent both in English and French. Fluency in wolof will be an added advantage. Proven ability to think strategically, ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Cultural sensitivity, patient and flexible.
